Leicester City – A National League Hockey ClubLeicester Hockey Club Logo

We offer a full range of competitive hockey for women, men, boys and girls of all ages and abilities in a friendly, welcoming and safe environment. We have been hockey partners with Leicester Grammar School since 2022 and provide coaches to the school as well as a variety of opportunities to train and play for students.

Our Junior Academy runs on Sundays from our home venue, St Margarets Pastures Sports Centre, LE1 3EA. U8s - U14s train every Sunday 10-11.30am with regional and national competitions in addition. Our Academy is led by top quality coaches who have constant development to offer the best experience to our members. Juniors get regular friendly fixtures and tournaments (including England Hockey National age group), Elite Camps and tour opportunities. For Junior Academy info please contact jamie.cooper@leicesterhc.co.uk

As part of our partnership with Leicester Grammar School, Leicester City Hockey runs hockey sessions for students of Leicester Grammar Junior School at Leicester Grammar School on Wednesdays from 5.15-6.15pm. These sessions are free for LGS and LGJS Students to attend and players are also welcome to join the club as members if they wish to be selected for club teams and competition. More information about the membership, options to pay and how to join is on our website http://www.leicesterhc.co.uk or you can email secretary@leicesterhc.co.uk to find out more information.

Our 5 x Womens and 3 x Mens senior teams play in the Midlands and National League Division One North providing hockey for all ambitions and levels of enjoyment. Each squad has a coach/senior player allocated to them who leads on training and supports on match days. In addition to Saturday League Hockey, we also have age group matches and this year have again entered the mixed National Cup Competition.

We are an established England Hockey ClubMark club, which means we have achieved and retained our quality club status with England Hockey as a well-run club. This year we are also part of the Talent Centre Cohort, working towards the status and providing an ideal environment for young players to thrive in their journeys to reach their potential as players and young people.

In 2023 we laid an Olympic Quality Water based pitch – the same quality of pitch used at Tokyo 2021 Olympics and have begun to further develop the St Margaret’s site to now include extra facilities, and pavilion development.

In addition to junior provision, we also offer Walking Hockey, Walking Football and offer a specialist Hockey Goalkeeping School throughout the season that parents and staff members may be interested in.
