GCSE Historians explore Berlin

During last week's half-term break, some of our GCSE History students embarked on an enriching residential trip to Berlin, immersing themselves in the rich history of Germany’s capital. This unforgettable experience allowed them to explore key historical landmarks and museums that directly connect to three of their four course modules: The First World War, Nazi Germany, and The Cold War.
Departing on Friday, 14 February 2025, and returning late on Monday, 17 February 2025, students had the opportunity to engage with history first-hand through a range of fascinating activities, including:
- A visit to the Berlin Wall & East Side Gallery
- Exploring the Stasi Museum
- A guided walking tour of the city
- Discovering the Topography of Terror (former Gestapo headquarters)
- Reflecting at the Holocaust Memorial
- Visiting iconic landmarks such as the Brandenburg Gate, Potsdamer Platz, and the Reichstag
This trip provided an invaluable opportunity for students to deepen their understanding of the past, bringing their studies to life in a truly memorable way.
